ABOUT WIPS AND THE FOUNDERS SYMPOSIUM
In 1985, a small group met to organize the amateur and professional fossil lovers of the Western Interior. The result was the formation of the Western Interior Paleontological Society (WIPS), a non-profit organization dedicated to scientific, educational and charitable activities relating to paleontology.Held biennially, the Founders Symposium honors those individuals who formed and guided WIPS in its early years. It brings together avocational and professional paleontologists, educators and fossil enthusiasts from the region and across the country.
